Learn how Pezi (owned and operated by Madeezi) processes, stores, and protects your Pinterest data.
1. Overview
Pezi ("we", "us", or "our") is a tool owned and operated by Madeezi, designed to allow Pinterest board creators to share their boards publicly so that anyone can view the board's pins without logging in. This Privacy Policy details how we handle the information that is retrieved when you connect your Pinterest account.
2. Information We Access and Collect
To provide our service, we interact with your Pinterest account using the official Pinterest Developer REST API v5. We access the following information:
- Authentication Tokens: When you authorize Pezi, we receive a temporary OAuth access token. This token is stored in a secure, encrypted cookie (`pezi_pinterest_token`) inside your browser. We do NOT save this access token in our database, and we never have access to your Pinterest account password.
- Board Metadata:For the board you explicitly choose to share, we retrieve the board's ID, name, description, Pinterest URL, and your Pinterest username. This metadata is saved in our database to build your public share link.
- Pin Metadata:We fetch and cache the pins belonging to the selected board, including each pin's ID, title, description, external source link, and image URL. We do NOT host or store the actual image files; we only store the Pinterest-hosted image URL reference.
3. How We Use and Share Information
Your cached board information and pins are stored securely in our database for the sole purpose of displaying them on your public share page (e.g. `/share/your-custom-slug`).
- Public Access: Anyone with access to your unique share link will be able to view the title, description, and images of the pins on your shared board.
- No Sharing with Third Parties: We do not sell, rent, lease, or distribute your account data or cached pins to any third-party advertising networks or external businesses.
4. Data Control and Deletion
You maintain complete control over the data you share using Pezi:
- Disconnecting Your Account:You can disconnect your Pinterest account from Pezi at any time by clicking the "Disconnect" button in your dashboard. This immediately deletes the OAuth access token cookie from your browser.
- Deleting Shared Links: When you delete a generated link or request removal, all cached board metadata and cached pins are immediately and permanently erased from our PostgreSQL database.
- Requesting Data Removal: If you wish to request the deletion of all data associated with your Pinterest username from our database manually, please contact us at privacy@pezi.zip. We will process your deletion request within 48 hours.
5. Third-Party Links
Pezi displays pins that contain links pointing back to Pinterest and other external web pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external websites.
